Before modelFIT, I was SUPER out of shape. I had been traveling non stop for work and all of the eating on the road, airports, lack of sleep, etc and it ALL caught up to me. The first few classes were tough but I honestly can’t even believe what better shape I am in. It’s completely increased my ability to do cardio for long periods of time as well as strength training.

modelFIT had a huge impact on my overall life as well. Everyone at mF is so kind and encouraging that they became like a family. The vibe of the studio made me want to start my day there and has also allowed me to meet some great people. I have a special spot in my heart for Sam’s Cardio Sculpt classes. I have so much fun doing them and they are HARD- I am dripping in sweat after. Sam gives good vibes and her music is always amazing. They are one of my favorite ways to start my day!

Having the option of doing classes with cardio or only sculpt makes me feel like I can get all different types of workouts at modelFIT. It never feels repetitive and they are always fun. I love spending my time there so it only made sense for me to fully commit and become a member.

The best workout is the one that you’ll do, and the quality of workout that modelFIT offers in addition to its friendly, welcoming community, has helped me lose almost 2 Lululemon pant sizes and gain confidence in my body after 2 months of being a member. I love that I can get a challenging, sweat-dripping workout, without burpees or treadmills, and see a difference in my body definition (and feel it the next day!).

I came to modelFIT for the workout and I stayed for not only the results, but also the community. I am usually dubious of studios who make this claim, but I was struck by just how friendly and welcoming everyone I met at ModelFIT was, from those who teach and manage the space, to those who attend.

modelFIT is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I never thought I would be someone who would wake up before work to workout at 7a, or schedule my off days around working out, but now I get excited to head to 212 Bowery, as not only do I know I’ll be getting a great workout, but also I’ll get to see the trainers, Kaitlyn or Amanda at the front desk, and maybe some of the other regulars in class. All the curated products in the locker room are also another bonus amenity when coming to class!

I started going to ModelFIT almost a year ago now. My relationship with ModelFIT has changed my perspective towards working out and being healthy. The most important lesson I’ve learned since I started going to ModelFIT is balance and listening to your body.

After graduating from high school during which I ran Varsity Cross Country, exercise all of a sudden became something I had to go out of my way to do; it went from being a sport that I participated in with a team or competitively (growing up I ran cross country, played tennis, swam competitively, played soccer, etc.) to something I felt I had to do to be healthy. I hated working out. And every time I would work out, I felt like I was doing it to check the box. I hated every single minute leading up to it and of it. The only part I enjoyed was the satisfaction after I’d done it.

Whenever I’d work out I’d count the minutes on the treadmill waiting to hit whatever mark I had made up in my head. And I was so tough on myself. I felt like I always had to go longer and harder than the day before. I felt like I had to sweat and endure pain to get a real workout (“no pain, no gain”). And I felt like I couldn’t take any days off and that if I was tired, it was better to not work out at all than to go out and do a shorter / less intense workout. So of course I refused to ever try any Pilates or yoga or sculpt-esque classes.

But, at the beginning of the year, I decided to give ModelFIT a chance (after reading about it and researching for months). And I am so grateful I did. I remember my first class on a Saturday morning with Justin perfectly. The whole class I was thinking to myself “how is my body ever going to change with these small movements”, “I’m barely breaking a sweat”, “this is why I never do these classes”, “those models already have perfect bodies”, “I know my body, and this is never going to work for me”, etc. But then I left class, and about an hr later, started feeling it. I kept going and within a week I started seeing the difference. And equally important to seeing results (almost even more importantly in my mind) I enjoyed working out for the first time in my “young adulthood” life.

I can’t begin to express the change ModelFIT has had on my life, my relationship with my body, and with food. I still have a long way to go, but for the first time in my life, I feel like I have a positive, healthy, and balanced perspective towards working out. Sometimes I go 4x in a week, sometimes I don’t go for a whole month because life gets in the way or I’m just not feeling it that day. And that’s OK. But every time I go to ModelFIT (my only workout other than the occasional run), it’s a treat to myself. I go because I want to. I go, and I’m excited. And I leave, and I feel amazing. And probably half the time during class, I have a huge smile on my face because I’m so happy to be there, and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

ModelFIT is empowering. When I came here, I thought the only way I could be happy is to lose a certain amount of weight. After several classes and personal training sessions, I was surprised by the growing amount of love and respect I have for my hardworking self. Everyone at modelFIT genuinely cares about me and wants to help me reach my potential. They spread the message of staying positive and living a healthy lifestyle by taking good care of oneself. Now I not only exercise daily but also eat cleaner and sleep more! With a healthier routine, I have never felt this confident in my life!
